What to Expect
In general, the first visit takes one and a half to two hours, and follow-up visits usually last about an hour. You may rest as long as you like during your treatment. If there's a certain time you need to leave, let us know when you arrive.
Wear comfortable clothes that allow access below the elbows and knees. You'll stay fully clothed during your treatment. We mostly use points in the arms, legs, hands, feet, and ears to treat the whole body.
It's good to eat something about an hour before your treatment.
Please turn cell phones off when entering the clinic.
If you feel tired, set aside time after your treatment to rest.
Does it hurt?
Some people are more sensitive than others, but overall acupuncture is virtually painless. We will check in on you during your treatment to make sure you are comfortable. Many people doze off during treatment and wake feeling refreshed.
